The Regulator

As a Regulated Provider of Social Housing, Loddon Homes has to follow rules set by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH). The Regulator makes sure social landlords run safe, well-managed homes and treat residents fairly.

These rules tell landlords how they must behave, covering safety, quality of homes, communication, complaints, neighbourhood management, and how the organisation is run.

For example, the Regulator requires landlords to:

• Keep homes safe and free from hazards, carry out repairs on time, and maintain communal areas
• Be open and honest with tenants and give clear information about decisions and services
• Let residents get involved and listen to tenant feedback

These are called Consumer Standards (for resident services) and Economic Standards (for governance and financial health).

How well we are following those rules is overseen by our Board of Directors and through information that Loddon Homes is required to provide to the Regulator.
